"Clean at Sephora" Ingestible Standards: All ingestible products in the "Clean at Sephora" programme must meet the following criteria:
I) All brand products are and will continue to:
1a) Comply with the “Clean at Sephora” ingredient standards for all topical products
1b) List all product ingredients on the applicable product page on sephora.com.au
1c) Have clear and conspicuous labeling for:
• 8 key allergens (soybeans, eggs, milk, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat)
• Gluten
• All other legally mandatory information, including information required by the FDA
1d) Ensure that products are manufactured in compliance with all FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
1e) Use safe and effective dietary ingredients, in compliance with FDA standards and applicable laws
2) The Brand is and will continue to test its products for:
2a) Heavy metal contaminates (Arsenic, Lead, Mercury, and Cadmium) in order to comply with California Prop 65 label requirements for heavy metals
2b) Polychlorinated biphenyls (or PCB) contaminates in order to confirm that the product does not contain any such contaminates (tTesting requirements are only for marine derived products such as fish oil or shellfish)
2c) Pesticides in order to ensure that the product meets standards set by US pharmacopoeial
2d) Residual solvents in order to ensure that the product meets standards set by ICH Q3C(R6)
2e) Potency and purity in order to ensure that product contents match product labels, that the product meets all requirements using FDA guidelines, and that all other criteria in this letter agreement (including testing raw material and final product) provided by Sephora is met.
3) The Brand is and will ensure that its products are formulated entirely without (this formulated without list is non-exhaustive):
3a) Artificial sweeteners, fragrances, and colorants (for e.g., aspartame, saccharin, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, high fructose corn syrup, blue #1, red dye #3, yellow #6 etc.)
3b) BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole)
3c) BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene)
3d) EDTA and derivatives (EDTA, Calcium Disodium EDTA, Disodium EDTA, Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Trisodium EDTA)
3e) GMO’s (genetically modified organisms)
3f) Hydrogenated oils (e.g., hydrogenated soybean oil, hydrogenated palm oil, etc.)
3g) Titanium dioxide
3h) Magnesium silicate
3i) Stearic acid
3j) Talc
3k) Dicalcium phosphate
3l) Microcrystalline cellulose
3m) Shellac
3n) Silicones
4) The Brand will ensure that, whenever possible, its products:
4i) Are organic, in compliance with USDA standards and certified by a reputable third party
4b) Contain natural and naturally-derived ingredients, in compliance with FDA standards and without synthetic or artificial ingredients
4c) Are vegan and cruelty-free (including capsules, exceptions for fish oils and collagen)
4d) Contain sustainably sourced ingredients (including using sustainable environmental and labor practices)
4e) Are formulated to USP grade standards (United States Pharmacopeia)
4f) Are bioavailable and formulated for maximum absorption
